Help-Portrait Macomb
HELP-PORTRAIT MACOMB OFFERS FREE PORTRAITS TO FAMILIES IN NEED SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8 This December 8th, photographers, editors and volunteers around the Macomb area will gather for the fifth annual Help-Portrait event. The idea behind Help-Portrait is simple: 1. Find someone in need 2. Take a portrait 3. Print the portrait and 4. Deliver the portrait. Help-Portrait Macomb will take place between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the Crossing, 1600 W Jackson, Macomb. Macomb Camera Club members, local photographers, and community members will volunteer their time to take portraits of low-income families and those in need - people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford professional family portraits. High-school Seniors from low-income families, veterans, and senior citizens are also welcome for individual photos. Help-Portrait Macomb photographs as many families as we can fit into three hours. Families outside of Macomb are also welcome. Each family receives a free 8x10 print and an electronic copy of the family photo. Registration is not required but is helpful. Families can RSVP at HelpPortraitMacomb@gmail.com or on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/HelpPortraitMacomb/. Additional volunteers and donations are still needed to help the day run smoothly and to fund the prints, supplies, and snacks at the event. Donations can be made to the Help-Portrait Macomb account at the Western Illinois Credit Union. Volunteers can contact Help-Portrait for additional information.
