The Western Illinois Regional Council-Community Action Agency has the following employment opportunity available within its Victim Services Department:
    Essential Functions:  Under the supervision of the Domestic Violence Coordinator, the DV Advocate/Counselor is responsible for the legal advocacy elements of the Domestic Violence Program, including crisis counseling, Illinois Domestic Violence Act legal advocacy, civil and criminal legal advocacy, institutional advocacy, and professional training.  This position also provides DV counseling services including individual and group counseling with survivors of domestic/dating violence, and completes all documentation in a timely manner.  Periodic on-call hotline duty on a rotational basis is a function of the position.
    Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in counseling, social work, or psychology and one year of work experience preferred in the social work profession or a combination of education and experience in a related field.  Candidate must be highly organized, work well under stress, possess basic computer/word processing skills, understand and maintain client confidentiality as required by law, and assist with the crisis hotline.
