    Job Title: Office Assistant

    Job Type: Part-time (15 hours/week: M-F 1:30-4:30 PM)

    Job Overview: The Macomb Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a part-time office assistant to be responsible for handling a variety of tasks in our office. You will be handling incoming phone calls and other communications, greeting visitors, as well as managing files, updating paperwork and other documents, and performing other office duties as assigned.
    In order for you to be selected as a candidate, you will need the ability to write clearly and be proficient with word processing applications and bookkeeping software. A pleasing personality with strong communication skills is also highly valued.

    Responsibilities and Duties:
    • Handling incoming calls and other communications.
    • Greeting visitors and members.
    • Performing general office clerk duties and errands.
    • Recording information as needed.
    • Processing transactions, issuing checks, and updating ledgers.
    • Coordinating events as necessary.
    • High school diploma or higher with relevant experience.
    • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
    • Working knowledge of bookkeeping software preferred.
    • Time management and organizational skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Personable demeanor.
    • Commitment to working efficiently and accurately.
